For CA: As of January 1st, 2022, lawmakers in California enacted law AB 468, requiring that in order to issue an ESA letter for dogs a licensed clinician must provide mental health services for 30 continuous days. To comply with this legislation, Pettable will refer you to a licensed clinician and your professional relationship will start on the day of your first consult. Your clinician will provide you with a follow up appointment at the initial consult and any other follow up steps that are required in between. After your final consult, 30 days after the first consult, your clinician will then legally be allowed to write and sign an ESA letter.
